I was told by a guy who seemed pretty clued up, to get rid of my forge 007p diverter valve and replace it with the original bosch one, now that ive had my remap done. He said the forge one retains heat longer and does more harm than good. Is he right or completely wrong? I like the sound too much for it to go! lol

I would say 90% of people on here with a remap have the Forge 007p so I would say he is talking crap

Being a piston type with the associated mass, the Forge 007p does not operate as quickly as the Bosch which is a diaphram type. But like everyone else on here, I use a Forge with no apparent problems.

Forge is a good uprated valve - Highly recommended.

The standard Bosch has issues under increased boost, but it's theoretical design is good. Just shame it isn't robust if that makes sense.

Forge every time, mine has done 60000 miles on mapped and standard (although I guess a QS would still class as mapped) and it has worked perfectly.

Did he just say what i think he said :o

Put a standard one in..... thats used at running 13psi (15peak) put a remap on and your running 18psi (20 peak) or stage 2 and 22psi (24peak).... doesn't take a rocket scientist to work out that little diaphram is going to split... stick with forge... although you may need to upgrade the spring to yellow from green depending on your psi.... (as it may be too soft for the amount your running)

You may all laugh but the standard one should work quicker (less mass diaphram type) than the Forge 007p (heavier piston type) and I know Caney is using a standard one that gets round an issue he was having with the piston type. The Forge 007p is nore robust but then the Bosch one is cheap to replace if it goes wrong. I've got a Forge 007p but trying the Bosch one again is something I might try to see if it makes an improvement for me.

I'm not sure about the "retaining heat longer" claim - well it will because it's thick alloy but then again it will heat up slower and I'm unclear what difference this will make anyway.

ya, my audi specialist mechanic basically said that the OEM DV would work 'better', while it was working. Until it died, there was no point replacing it. When it did die (and it would), then replace it.

ie: yes, its worth replacing with the forge, but not until your OEM one dies.
